  • Oboe

    Founding Member - Serves as an officer on the board of directors

    Rebecca, originally from Colorado, received her Doctoral Degree in Oboe Performance from the University of Oregon. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where she toured Vienna, Austria, and Spain with the LC Symphony Orchestra and the LC Concert Band. She furthered her education with a Master of Music Degree at the University of Northern Colorado, performing with both the Contemporary Music Ensemble and the Early Music Ensemble. Her teachers have included Lisa Brende Martin, Dr. Heather Armstrong, Dr. Laura Medisky, Dr. Euridice Alvarez, Timothy Gocklin, Melissa Peña, and Dr. Dieter Koch.

  • Clarinet

    Founding Member - Serves as the secretary on the Board of Directors

    Singaporean David Kwek is pursuing his Doctoral Degree in Music Performance at the University of Oregon, School of Music and Dance (UO SOMD) under the mentorship of Dr. Wonkak Kim. He is also the Clarinet Graduate Employee Instructor, assisting with teaching and administrative duties for the clarinet studio. He currently holds the Principal Clarinet position at the Rogue Valley Symphony in Ashland, Oregon.

    David attained his MMus with department honors from UO SOMD and BMus with first class honors from the joint degree program of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (Singapore) and the Royal College of Music (London). His teachers were Tang Xiao Ping, Janet Hilton, Michael Harris and Michael Anderson.

    His achievements include the Embassy of Peru Award (2019), Best Graduate Performer Award (UO 2024) and the First Prize of the Clarinet Asia competition (2019) held in Macau.

  • Saxophone

    Founding Member - Serves as an officer on the board of directors

    An Oregon native, Nick is finishing his senior year at the University of Oregon this fall, pursuing majors in Music Performance and Music History, as well as minors in Audio Production and Music Technology. He has been playing saxophone for ten years under the instruction of Andy Warr, Sean Fredenburg, and Idit Shner. During his time at UO, Nick has had the opportunity to perform with the Oregon Wind Ensemble, UO Symphony Orchestra, Britt Festival Orchestra, and the Newport Symphony. Nick enjoys collaborating with other musicians and composers, producing music, and is passionate about teaching saxophone. In his spare time, he can be found playing the guitar, enjoying the outdoors, reading, or collecting records.

  • Bass Clarinet

    Serves as treasurer on the board of directors

    A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dexter Hidalgo received his bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Nevada, Reno and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in performance at the University of Oregon. As an active orchestral musician, Dexter has performed with groups including the Eugene Symphony, Reno Philharmonic, Reno Chamber Orchestra, Rogue Valley Symphony, Newport Symphony and more. Dexter was named a winner of the 2024 Grande Ronde Symphony Concerto Competition. His principal teachers include Dr. Wonkak Kim and Dr. Joshua Anderson.

  • Bassoon

    Founding Member - Serves as president on the board of directors

    Bronson York is currently in his third year of his doctoral degree at the University of Oregon under the instruction of Dr. Steve Vacchi, who he also studied under for both his masters and bachelors degrees. Bronson holds the graduate employee position with the UO bassoon studio, where he assists with bassoon and contrabassoon instruction and leads the studio in reed making instruction. 

    Bronson currently holds the principal bassoon position with the Rogue Valley Symphony and Jefferson Baroque Orchestra in Ashland, Oregon. In addition to his playing in Ashland, Bronson plays regularly with the Oregon Bach Festival, Eugene Symphony, and Eugene Ballet. By far his most gratifying musical experience however is with the nonesuch.reedquintet.

    Founding Member

    Logan is a Eugene native, graduating from Willamette high school in 2019. He is in his final year of his bachelor's degree at the University of Oregon where he studies with Dr. Wonkak Kim. In his time here he has performed with groups including OrchestraNEXT, Newport Symphony, and Eugene Symphony. In the fall of 2023 he will begin his master's program at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with professor Pavel Vinnitsky.
